Shanghai-based Moutai Leasing has acquired five Boeing 737 aircraft under a sale and leaseback (SLB) transaction.

The five aircraft are currently operated by a Chinese carrier.

China Merchants Bank Shanghai branch provided financing for the transaction.

Moutai Leasing said that the operator is among China’s state-owned ‘big three’ carriers, which comprise Air China, China Eastern and China Southern.

The lessor did not comment before the press time.

In May 2020, China Aircraft Leasing (CALC) and China Construction Bank announced that they would support together the growth of Moutai Leasing.

CALC will provide aircraft asset management services and CCB will provide lending, debt underwriting, asset securitisation and other financial services.
