The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) has signed a guarantee agreement with private financial institutions for the principal and interest of its transition-linked loans to Japan Airlines (JAL).
The total principal covered by the guarantee is approximately JPY11.2 billion ($75 million).
The lenders are Mizuho Bank, MUFG Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Bank of Kyoto, and Chiba Bank.
JBIC said this guarantee is intended to support JAL in obtaining financing from private financial institutions to import one Boeing aircraft.
