Dublin-based lessor SMBC Aviation Capital has sold $500 million of senior unsecured notes. The transaction for the five-year, 3% notes was completed by the lessor’s subsidiary, SMBC Aviation Capital Finance. Pricing was at US Treasuries plus 115 basis points and the bond falls due in July 2022. JP Morgan, Citigroup, Credit Agricole-CIB, Goldman Sachs, RBC Capital Markets and SMBC Nikko are the joint bookrunners in the transaction.
Proceeds from the latest issue are earmarked for general corporate purposes, which could include aircraft acquisitions and refinancing of existing debt.
