BOC Aviation has delivered the first of three Airbus A330 Freighter aircraft under a lease agreement to Chinese carrier Sichuan Airlines.
All three aircraft are part of the company’s existing owned and managed portfolio. The remaining two aircraft are scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2019.
The 2013-vintage aircraft was previously operated by Qatar Airways Cargo. The other units, also ex-Qatar Airways A330-200Fs, are 2012- and 2013-built aircraft.
Sichuan Airlines is growing cargo capacity out of its base Chengdu. Last December December, the Sichuan Provincial Government and China National Aviation Holding signed a strategic cooperation framework to promote Chengdu as an international aviation hub.
