Sichuan Airlines | Operating lease | 06-23 | 6xA321neo

Air Lease Corporation has agreed with Sichuan Airlines for a lease contract that covers 10 additional Airbus A321neos, which will come from ALC's orderbook and are scheduled for delivery in 2021 and 2022.

Update: US-based Air Lease (ALC) has resumed an Airbus A321neo mandate with Sichuan Airlines that had been stalled by the ongoing pandemic in China.

Two A321neos were accepted in Hamburg last week and have departed for their new homebase in Chengdu. It is understood that these aircraft were manufactured in 2021 but held back on request of the Chinese carrier.

They mark just the third and fourth A321neos between ALC and Sichuan Airlines from a mandate for 10 aircraft announced in 2019 that was supposed to be completed in 2021-22.

The aircraft are from ALC’s orderbook with Airbus.

Update:

Air Lease (ALC) has delivered a long-range Airbus A321neo to Sichuan Airlines.

The aircraft was delivered out of Hamburg over the weekend.

This marks the last ALC aircraft for the Sichuan fleet.

In February, ALC said it would deliver only two aircraft into China in 2023 as part of efforts to reduce its exposure to mainland carriers.
