SAA complies “under protest” with EU ETS

South African Airways raises fuel surcharge to comply with the EU’s Emissions Trading Scheme.

South African Airways (SAA) is preparing to raise its fuel surcharge on flights to and from Europe by between Eu1 and Eu2 Euros per passenger on flights booked from 1 July 2012 in order to comply with the European Union’s Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS).
