Ex-Im Bank in court over $1.3 billion guarantee

The Air Transport Association of America (ATA) has taken Ex-Im Bank to court over a guarantee for Air India's Boeing financing.

The Air Transport Association of America (ATA) filed a lawsuit yesterday against the Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank). The trade organisation for US airlines wants to block a US government guarantee for Boeing deliveries to Air India.

Ex-Im Bank recently approved a $1.3 billion aircraft financing guarantee for India's flag carrier. The bank is considering an additional $2.1 billion in loan guarantees to support the purchase of 30 aircraft, including 27 Boeing 787s delivering between 2011 and 2015, ATA says.
