Can Boeing prevent more customers, like American Airlines and now Transaero Airlines, from switching to the A320neo?

Earlier this week Russia’s Transaero Airlines announced it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for up to 12 Airbus A320neos. The order, which includes eight A320neos and options for four more aircraft, makes Transaero the first airline in Russia, CIS and Eastern Europe to order the Airbus A320neo.
The deal also means Boeing has lost another customer to the A320neo
The manufacturer previously lost orders to Airbus when American Airlines (AA) announced it would unevenly split its order for 460 narrowbodies between the two manufacturers, awarding Airbus 60 more firm orders and 265 more options and purchase rights than Boeing.
