Joachim Hunold resigns as Air Berlin announces further losses and plans to terminate leases on eight aircraft.

Joachim Hunold, CEO of Air Berlin, has resigned to the airline's board of directors during a conference call about the company's second quarter results this morning. His is resignation is effective September 1. Hunold has been CEO since 2006.
