In August 2007 Aviation Capital Group (ACG) went to the private placement market closing $270 million in senior unsecured notes. The idea was eventually to do a public deal after the private market indicated how an ACG bond would price. When the company went back to the private market in February 2008, the market was no longer there. The credit crunch was starting.
Three years on from the $270 million private placement, ACG again went to the institutional market to test investor appetite in March 2010.
