With a raft of new initiatives from around the world aimed at reducing aviation’s impact on the environment, Europe is no longer the sole campaigner in the carbon fight – but it is still “well ahead of the game”, according to a panel of experts at Euromoney’s AirLaw conference.
“The last 12 months has been awash with emissions trading schemes from around the world to compliment or supersede what is going on in Europe,” said Tim Johnson of the Aviation Environment Federation to delegates at the third annual conference in London today.
