2008 Aircraft Finance Team of the Year

José Zaidan Maluf and his team at TAM Airlines used an array of structures in 2008 to finance a multitude of deliveries, demonstrating both technical skill and personal integrity.

TAM Airlines started up in 1961 with five Cessna light aircraft. Last year the Brazilian carrier took delivery of some 30 new jets using the full spectrum of financing structures.

This achievement is largely down to José Zaidan Maluf, international contracts director at the airline, and his small aircraft finance team.

“TAM has one of the most talented, committed and skilful teams among the international carriers,” says José Abramovici, managing director and global head of aviation group and rail finance at Calyon.
