Rudiger Fern, head of aircraft finance at BayernLB in Frankfurt and Munich, will take early retirement following a thirty-year distinguished career in banking. He is now setting up his own consultancy company.A graduate of the University of Gottingen, where he gained a degree in business administration, Rudy's first banking role was with Citibank in Frankfurt where he joined as an executive trainee in 1979. He then went on to work with Commerzbank, New York, in its loans and credit department before going back to his homeland to work again for Citibank as a corporate account manager in Hamburg and Hanover.Rudy's first foray into the aviation sector was in 1986 when he joined Manufacturers Hanover Trust as account manager for financial institutions, specialising in leasing and aircraft finance.
