ICBC Leasing and BOC Aviation have told Airfinance Journal that they are not interested in acquiring AIG leasing subsidiary International Lease Finance Company (ILFC).Last week, a story emerged that the two lessors were holding talks with China Investment Corp (CIC), the $200 billion Chinese sovereign wealth fund, with a view to making a joint bid for ILFC.The story was given added substance by the arrival at CIC of Colin Lau as head of alternative investments. Lau looked at investing in aircraft leasing companies while managing director at Star International.But the story, which Reuters originally broke, appears to have little substance with senior decision makers at both ICBC...
