The number of people who would admit to owning a pair of Doc Maartens boots correlates with the handful of banks that scream and shout about export credit deals. While both subjects were cause for discussion a few years ago, attitudes have changed and people are embracing new trends.
Doc Martens could still make a comeback, but the dip in the number of export credit deals begs the following question: why has the market fallen from grace and will it ever reach the same heights it achieved four years ago?
The increasing health of airlines as credits these days means that the margins that banks get from export credit deals hardly makes them worth the effort.
