• Boeing has announced a six-month delay in the delivery of the 787 Dreamliner. The company cites continuing challenges to completing the first few aircraft. Deliveries to the first customers have been put back and are slatted to begin in November or December 2008. The company has delayed the first flight until the first-quarter 2008.
• Virgin Atlantic is looking to replace some of its fleet of long-haul aircraft based at London Gatwick Airport with newer, more fuel-efficient aircraft. The airline is looking at the 747-8 and A380. The order would be for 10 aircraft, valued at about $3 billion.
• Low-cost airline Wizz Air has signed a firm order for 50 A320 aircraft. Wizz Air has 82 A320s on order from Airbus.
• Tiger Airways has confirmed a firm order for 30 A320s, with an option for another 20 aircraft. The memorandum of understanding was signed at the Paris Air Show in June...
