Airfinance Journal is giving me the opportunity to write a column on aviation issues, an opportunity for which I am very grateful.
As with every new assignment I try to step back and think how best to please my customers, who in this instance are the readers. What can the reader learn from a monthly column to help them understand the aviation environment and eventually perform better in their job?
A major element, of course, is to select an appropriate subject, one that is relevant, meaningful and contains at least some controversy. Stressing that aircraft should be safe is so obvious that it becomes meaningless. Nobody will argue otherwise. Luckily, our working environment is full of real challenges where differences of opinion exist.
In future columns I intend to write about the current obsession with consolidation, the future of oil prices, the future of regional aircraft, the replacement market for...
