Nothing spells growth like a region with two thriving cities. Such is the position of Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. The cities are among the wealthiest in the world and their airlines are equally notable.
Emirates – Jewel in Dubai's crown
If Dubai is the crown jewel of the United Arab Emirates, then Emirates Airline is the jewel in Dubai's crown. Situated not far from the city's array of futuristic skyscrapers that resemble something out of a science-fiction movie, Emirates's headquarters are equally spellbinding.
Overlooking Dubai International Airport where its aircraft can be seen constantly taking off and landing from huge windows, its vast new headquarters are more like an Emirates empire – boasting an Emirates-owned shopping complex, banks, offices and miles of airy floor-space. It quickly becomes apparent that Emirates is more than an airline – it is a vast commercial entity and a showpiece for Dubai.
