Union warns that Irish government must retain Aer Lingus stake

Impact, the Aer Lingus members union, warned that the Irish government must maintain a 25% stake in the airline in the event of a flotation.
The union said if the government sells Aer Lingus it must ensure that the company does not fall into the hands of speculators. Dermot Mannion, chief executive of Aer Lingus, said last night that investment was vital for the company's survival.
